“Peer Gynts in Larantuka”, the first stage of an inter-Asian (Indonesia, Japan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam) theater collaboration project, “Multitude of Peer Gynts”, has been held for 2 weeks from 23 June 2019 – 6 July 2019, in East Flores.
“Peer Gynts in Larantuka”, a collaborative work-in-progress performance between the key artists from Asia with 10 East Flores artists was staged on a beachside stage built in Larantuka City Park and received a warm response from the public.
“Peer Gynts in Larantuka” was supported by East Flores local government, Indonesian Agency for Creative Economy (BEKRAF), and Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture.
Next, co produced by Shizuoka Performing Arts Center (SPAC) and facilitated by The Saison Foundation, the second stage of the project will be conducted in Tokyo and Shizuoka (each for 2 weeks) in August-September and October-November 2019.
In 2020, the project, which is produced and artistically lead by Teater Garasi’s artists, will eventually arrives in Indonesia to be reworked and restaged in June-July.
